Robotics Festival at EPFL

PERPLEXUS member Francesco Mondada from EPFL organised a robotics festival ("Festival de robotique"; http://festivalrobotique.epfl.ch/) on 16 May, 2009. The festival was a great opportunity especially for children interested in technology in general and robotics in particular to get hands-on experience with the world of robotics in a multitude of expositions and stands, and the event accordingly attracted a great number of visitors. Congratulations to Francesco Mondada for the organisation of such a successful event!

Perplexus special session at the IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation

Andres Upegui and Andres Perez-Uribe from HEIG-VD organised a special session on the research topics adressed in PERPLEXUS in the IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation that was hold in Trondheim (Norway) on 18-21 May 2009.

PERPLEXUS on the radio!

The project coordinator Eduardo Sanchez spread the taste of PERPLEXUS once more. Listen here (in French)

The conclusions of the interlocutor were the following... the ubidules troop will be followed with a loupe. Their reaction could go from "doing nothing" to get hairy while singing Janis Joplin and getting chamallows on the hidden face of the moon... and that was not foreseen!

PERPLEXUS on the news!

Perplexus has been cited on the Swiss newspapers "La Liberté" and L'Agefi. The latter is a high impact economic newspaper of the Swiss French speaking region.

The Perplexus project has won its first prize!

The Perplexus paper “PERPLEXUS: Pervasive Computing Framework for Modeling Complex Virtually-Unbounded Systems” by E. Sanchez, A. Perez-Uribe, A. Upegui, Y. Thoma, J. M. Moreno, A. Villa, H.Volken, A. Napierlaski, G. Sassatelli, and E. Lavarec, has been awarded the relevant NASA/ASE AHS 2007 Conference prize in the category of Future and Emerging Technologies. The Conference took place at the University of Edinburgh from 5th - 8th August 2007.

Perplexus cited on the focus section of Euresearch

The Swiss national contact agency for EU projects, Euresearch, chose PERPLEXUS as an outstanding project to be cited on their website focus section of May 2007.
